Why I wrote this book

I wrote my book because verse writing began as a hobby. These rhymes are newly-written for a traditional season. Here you will find memorable verses with cheering things to say about the dismal, shortening days at the end of the year. A reader would be impressed by its diversity and strong verbal and rhythmic patterns. Children, in particular, will see how words can be fun as well as a means of communication. Every poem glows like a Christmas star.

Rhymes have always been an integral part of Christmas. Carols are sung in rhyme, every Christmas song we hear has rhyming lyrics. These rhymes are newly-written. They are modern and diverse. Some are humorous, some keen wordplay, and some recall the first Christmas. They track the progress of autumn into winter and celebrate the Christmas customs. Easy to read and narrate, this is a little book which older children and adults will find an enjoyable read.
